About Me
My humble beginnings
My name is Alan Wee. I graduated from Ngee Ann Polytechnic with a Diploma in Building Services and later earned a Bachelor of Science in Real Estate from the National University of Singapore.
I began my career in property management in the private sector, before moving into a real estate consultancy firm during the 2007–2008 en bloc fever. I then transitioned to business development for a listed luxury real estate developer in Singapore. However, my career was abruptly interrupted in 2009 when I was retrenched due to the collapse of Lehman Brothers and the US subprime crisis.
life as a brand new property agent
Left without a job, I jumped straight into real estate sales, unsure of what lay ahead. The first few years were extremely challenging. As a new property agent with no connections or guidance, I did everything from telesales and roadshows to distributing flyers door-to-door and knocking on doors in the evenings. It was tough — I almost gave up.
Telesales
This was back in 2010, when I stayed back in the office to make cold calls.
Door knocking
I door-knock both HDB flats to landed properties to secure listings to market.
Road Show
Every Sunday, I will station myself in Bangkit Market to prospect for business.
What kept me going was my passion for real estate and a strong survival instinct. I started with small deals, gradually building my business from the ground up — from room rentals and whole-flat rentals to HDB sales and beyond. With each challenge, I grew stronger and more experienced.
Billion Dollar Challenge Achieving Peak Performance In Real Estate Sales
When I first started in 2009, I felt very lost. My manager was rarely around, and my immediate colleagues were not particularly friendly. I had no choice but to seek help on my own. Fortunately, I came across a book written by William Wong, the founder of RealStar. I must have read that book a dozen times before its magic unleashed right in front of my eyes. Three years later, I had the opportunity to meet him at a sharing session at the National University of Singapore — and that was when this photograph was taken. For those who are interested in this book. I have left the link to the book here.
Slow But Steady Success
Today, I have nearly two decades of experience in the real estate industry, including 17 years as a property agent. I’ve received numerous awards from both my previous company and PropNex, and I’m grateful to the many clients who have supported me along the way — many of whom started as cold leads and continue to refer others to me.
My Achievments
My expertise lies in marketing residential properties. I’m well-versed across HDB flats, condominiums, and landed properties, and I have successfully completed over 550 property transactions to date. You can view some of my past transactions here.
SkillsFuture ambassador
On a personal note, I’m a proud husband and father of two wonderful daughters. I cherish time with my family, friends, and aging parents. In my free time, I enjoy exercising, reading, watching YouTube, and upgrading my skills through SkillsFuture courses — in fact, I was once a SkillsFuture ambassador and featured in one of their videos! This is my small way of contributing back to the community.
I also enjoy giving back to the community by sharing my professional experiences with my alumni and through various volunteering activities.
Conversation with Propnex CEO
This was one of the highlights of my career — being interviewed by Ismail Gafoor, former CEO of PropNex Realty, during an award presentation in 2025. I had the honour of speaking with him personally. Watch on as I share my journey, my approach to sales, and the deep respect I have for my boss.
